Cornell, James J. WESTERLO James J. Cornell, 65, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Albany Medical Center. He was born in Albany, the son of the late James H. and Florence (Collins) Cornell. He graduated from Guilderland High School in 1967 and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. James was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #7 since 1972. He was an avid outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved his family, especially his wife and son. James is survived by his beloved wife, Karen (Nottke) Cornell, their 42nd wedding anniversary would have been September 23, 2014 and by his loving son, Paul Cornell. He is also survived by his siblings, Donald Cornell, Catherine Flansburg (Lawrence), Theresa "Teddy" Cornell and Helene LaQue (Donald); brother-in-law, John Nottke (Barbara) and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Vascular ICU at Albany Medical Center Hospital for the care and compassion James received. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his brother, Richard Cornell and by his sister, Dorothy J. Cornell. Ginny James (1968)

I grew up with Jimmy.  He was a great guy.  Handsome too.  I pass his house everytime I visit my Mom and think of him.  God Bless you Karen and family.  Prayers and Thoughts are with you.  Ginny James

Michelle Morini (France) (1967)

One of my very best friends. Can still smell his Canoe... I will treasure our high school days and his memory forever.
